I don't do it very often but there are times I do it for a change, it's fun. One day, while I was washing clothes, a friend dropped by and saw me washing my wife's unde....r He laughed and jokingly said "Shame on you"! I'm sure he didn't mean it but it only shows that some people find it strange. Is this something to be ashamed of? I hope not!

My DH knows how to do laundry, but it's my territory around the house. He did his when he was single, and helped when we had to go to the laundrymat. But he's kind of scatterbrained sometimes, so it's a lot easier if I just do it. I do get him to carry the baskets up and downstairs sometimes.

Forgot to mention - my stepkids 15 and 12 have been doing their own laundry for a few years now. We want them to know how to do it on their own, even if they end up with someone who chooses to do it themselves.

My husband does his own clothes. I won't let him touch mine or the girls though. My dad has always washed my moms clothes & sometimes even my sisters. I do not see anything wrong with it at all.

I love seeing guys in the laundromat, especially the ones that have 3 baskets full of kids' clothes and they actually know what they are doing and aren't looking over at me like they want advice. Personally, I would never let my husband do laundry. I tried to teach him how to do it after we got married (he never had to do his own laundry at home) but he just wasn't interested. The one time I asked him to put a load in (because I was recovering from my third c-section in just over 2 years and didn't want to go down the stairs) he screwed it up. I stood at the top of the stairs and told him exactly what to do and he ended up pouring bleach into a load of dark clothes. I still have the black sweatpants with the big orange stain on them. Since then I do all the laundry. We just can't afford to replace stuff he messes up, lol. I will be teaching all of my children (including my son) to do laundry when they are about 11-12. After that they will be responsible for their own laundry just as I was.

Not at all. It just means that you love your partner and you share the chores in your home.
