Is this love or just attraction????????????

A close friend of mine just shocked a few days ago. He said that he was in love with his cousin!!
He is good at his academics and quite intelligent and i had not expected this kind of talk from him. He said that he had a kind of strong feeling for her even snce his child hood.
He sends her b'day gifts, chats with her for hours in the night time, and whenever talks with us; it is only bout her. He says that she also feels he same for him.
I have tried my best to make him understand that this is not love rather attraction but he won't listen me. I really feel bad for him because in our religion there is no space for such relations. They are of same age and have been friends since their childhood. Thats why I say that it is pure attraction nothing else.
I can't find a way to make him undestand. I would be really grateful if u could help!!

I am pretty sure that it is not love! and even not attraction!
How can be for him fall in love with his cousin!??
He is just in lack of communication with females or ladies. He should first of all try to make more female friends and try to communicate more often with female friends.

Have You tried telling him that children born to the parents, who are close relatives, are mentally not sound and prone to many deceases. Tell him not to ruin the child, for sake of infatuation.
