mean people-How should you deal when ur loved ones are treated in a mean way

Some people can be very nice and speaking politely to you but these same people are very mean to others whom you love or to strangers. I somehow find myself in a very awkward position to deal with this set of people. Should i say to them very bluntly that it is an inappropriate way or should i keep quite because they are very good to me.
