Oh yeah... Probably my all time favorite food is something that we eat in Hungary: pasta with ground poppy seeds and some powder sugar. I know it might sound strange, because you normally don't eat pasta sweet, and also, in many countries (at least here in Europe) poppy seed is not considered as food, it is only used as spice, or for medical purposes. Well, healthyish? If you make it with a good type of pasta and as less sugar as it is still good for the taste, yes. Poppy seed has a lot of protein and minerals in it. And it is definitely not true that it is an opiat or will make you dumb - not this type of it. Myself is the proof: I had it a lot when I grew up and it didn't effect my IQ... :-)

yourself is the proof indeed :) i was thinking along the opiat lines myself and heroin-pasta has a ring to it what's powder sugar? i don't think we have that here in the UK.

Cheers :-) This sugar I just looked up now in the dictionary, here you go: castor sugar powdered sugar pounded sugar Yeah, and the poppy seed has to be freshly ground, otherwise it gets bitter. This opiat stuff: that type of poppy which can be used for food, doesn't contain that special substance that is used in the medicine. Indeed, I've been living outside of Hungary for maybe 6 years now, (was also in England) and this is the food I probably miss the most... Enjoy it, if you dare to try! :-)
