The traditional gift for 5th anniversary is wood. Does anyone have any creative ideas for gifts for a guy. I always want to make things myself but also want it to be practical for him. Our anniversary is next week so I'm running out of time if I want to make something.

Some things that might be good (though don't know if you could make them in time) would be a nice magazine rack or small bookcase, nightstand, fancy picture frame, a hutch with cubbyholes for holding papers/bills/CDs, or a CD or DVD rack.

Those are really great ideas...thank you. If all else fails, those are good things to just buy too.

I have to say I love homemade gifts , they just seem so much more practiacl . I don't know if you still have time to do this or not but if this is for a friend why not try up a scrapbook for them of their time together so far , you can add touching little quotes or memories of their time together so far . That was just a thougth .

It is for mine and my husband's anniversary on Friday. I wanted to make something out of wood since that is the traditional gift for 5 years of marriage but I don't know. I'm running out of time. I like to make things because it's more personal but I don't know what to make him that would be practical. We'll see. Thanky you.
