How did you get started on myspace? What do you think about the hype the media put out about myspace? I got started because my sister was on it. I wanted to get back in touch with my peers back in school. I was reunited with a lot of my old friends. I stopped checking my myspace for a while because of all of the hype that the media had going, but then it finnally died down and I started using it again.

I got started on myspace, because all my friends at school asked me to. I think the hype and media is rediculous. It's even in movies. I do get to talk to a lot of people I haven't talked to in a while.

I got started out of a dare. My much younger brother and I were watching some music award sand he told me all these people that were myspace. Honestly I thought that only younger children were on there and that it would be rediculous for me to have a page. So he told me to name four people and if they were on there I had to make a page. I picked people I just knew would never be on there. Well needless to say, I have a myspace know, and I can't get enough.

well, my husband actually told me about it. he wanted me to check out the site, he had just gotten an account and said i should get one too. he said i could probably find a lot of my old friends on there. since i haven't seen them for a while, i really wanted to get in touch with them because i had just moved so not much people knew how to contact me anymore. so i joined up and found a whole bunch of my high school buddies. now i'm keeping in touch with my friends and family, and mostly networking my pages and videos. A penpal in Australia told me about it. This was like Jan of 05. I originally used it to try and put a bunch of artists and writers together to try and create comics, but the thing fell apart. :( Now, I use it to keep in touch with family in LA, and to make new epals from around the globe!

Actually, how I got started on MySpace is kinda funny. I really never bothered with it until one night a freind of mine asked me if I could customize his page; I am a webmaster/web designer. And I told him that I'd have to see how the website looked and what the code was like first.....then he says "You've NEVER been on MySpace???" I hadn't, this was 6 or 7 months ago. Since then I've caught up with some old friends, and made a few new ones. The bar I do a website for has a MySpace Group, so occasionally customers message me to ask about when the new pics I took are going up and such. As far as the media hype about MySpace being evil, OMG, PLEASE don't get me going on those people......enough said.......Parenting; the lost art.

I've only been on myspace for less than a year. My daughter talked me into it. But now I'm hooked for sure!! I have less than 50 friends, but I do stay in touch with about maybe 5 on a regular basis. But it is so fun to "find" people that I've been missing for years, or to see how my children's friends have grown up and they enjoy hearing from me too. On a sad note, this was how I found out that a very very dear friend of mine had passed away. I had a rough year that year (I have a rare cancer too), but my friend Mike had always always always emailed me to check on me, well he hadn't and I had missed him and tried to reach him, email, snail mail, etc. I found his son on myspace and he told me about Mike's passing away. But it has been a fun and useful tool for me and my family. It has been a bad one also for a young neice of mine. I alerted her parents to what she was into, and it wasn't good, trust me. But she will thank me for it one day. But all in all, I love it!!

I got started because I remembered hearing something about it on T.V. I met alot of my old friends from school on there. I don't really get on that much anymore unless I get a notification of a message or something. I guess I just got burned out. My hubby is way to addicted to it though.
