like thinking about sad people ,watching a sad movie ,or going through self-pity thoughts ? Second part : Is that a sign of chronic depression ? Or suppressed anxiety (like the psychologist in "Analyze This " movie tells Robert De Niro character ) ?

Crying is my reaction to almost every emotion I have. When I'm sad I cry, when I'm happy I cry, when I'm angry I cry. Hell, sometimes I cry for no reason whatsoever. I do not think that it is a sign of depression at all. I think it is just a reaction that varies in each person.

It does to me. Even in the mushy parts of comedy movies, cartoons or other things that ppl thinks would be really silly makes me cry. I am not sure about the suppressed anxiety thing though.

Yes, tears come to easily but not when watching a movie or thinking about sad people. Tears come often when things dont go my way and i tend to link up all what has already happened in my life and i indulge in self pity. Most of the times i get tears only when i am alone. I am enough strong to curb them in the midst of others because i have a feeling none will be able to understand.

Yes tears come to my eyes very easily. I am a very emotional person. I also suffer from depression bad. If I am watching a sad movie I will cry instantly. I don't know if it has to do with depression or anxiety but I suffer from them both.

In my case i used to be very emotional when watching sad movies or even when alone. When i started seeing a psychiarist, i discovered that it was all due to my childhold depression and isolation.I would just have self pity thoughts that would leave me crowded in a world of my own and yet still depressed. After getting help, i cry less and am able to control my emotions.
