My husband is leaving for Iraq very shortly and I already miss him. I was a Marine for 8 years myself and I still feel like a baby about this.

A baby because you miss your hubby already and he hasn't left yet-- No I dont think so- I think you're just realizing that soon he will be in Iraq. It has to be very hard.. Do you have kids? I beleive its time to bring our soldiers home but I totally support them. They are defending us and doing their job. My brother (37 - married with 3 kids) is also off to Iraq soon. Feb 2 they said. I already miss him.. and he is my brother-- I think its hard on the soldiers but just as hard on their families. I hope that you 2 are able to communicate often either by e-mail or phone. Good luck to you and your husband!

He hasn't left yet...when he does get there his job isn't infantry so he won't be fighting. He works with aviation. If I hear anything about the people over there I will come back to this post and let you know how they are living.

i have some good friends and some relatives over there now.i was there in 1986 and 87 during the gulf war so i know what they are going through. But do we belong over there?that question is in everyones mind.I say do what needs to be done and go home.stop the political war.Yes i believe in the beginning of all this we had every right to retaliate but when does it all end? this war has become another war like vietnam where its a war that cant be won.Their are more casualities happening now not from war efforts but from the retalialtion of the citizens there and they have the right to do so as we did when we went over there.so yes i do understand your concern and your feelings on missing him.

I'm anti-war but totally pro-troops. I mean we have to be. It's not their fault that they are over there fighting Bush's war and I think most people realize that, well everyone except our government and your run-of-the-mill Amerihaters. I hope Iraq can get their you-know-what together and our troops can come home soon.
