DIscussion number is not changing why?

I have had AT LEAST 20 replies today to my discussions ut the number next to my name is only increasing by the number of responses I am making. Can someone enlighten me please. Thanks

the number at the side of your name is simply your ratings response number, it will only increase by the number of posts you reply to rather than to the number of responses you get blessed be keep on posting

how weird I just made one response and the number went up by 2 - Oh dear I must be hallucinating, best I go to bed:) Thanks E

haha no that is when you get a plus mark, it does increase by 2
