I don't really believe that. The words "then love the one you have" would imply that you have some choice in the matter. I don't believe that you can choose to love someone, but that it just happens.

Well, you might not have a choice in who you do love, but you can 'try' to make yourself love the person you're with, right? Or maybe start with liking that person first, then who knows, it might grow into love.

I think you can spend time with that person and try to forget about your love for another and in doing that you might find yourself falling in love with the person your with.

i agree, why waste a time loving that person while you can have them, while there are someone near you ready to return your love.

Hahaha. I told my friend that too. It is better to try and reciprocate the love you are getting than to hope for something you might never have. Easier said than done though, I think. ;)

it's easy to say but so hard to do...I am in this situation and I just can't get ridd of the painful thought that i can't be with the one I want...

I agree with it being hard to do since you can't really dictate what your heart wants. :)
