What characteristics attract you to a potential mate? Do you first look at the physical, or is more about their personality? Let me know.

It depends. If a potential mate comes around on the net, then I will think more of the personality and the inner virtue than the physical. If we are at proximal ends, then I will first be attracted by the physical. This would soon dy away because i treasure more the personality and the virtue that the facial beauty. Anything could happen to the facial beauty, but the personality remains unchanged.

First of all, when you meet a person, you see how he/she looks. After that you descover her/his personality. That i think that the look is not the most important thing in the worls but if you look good you have more chances to attract people arround you!

I look at their eyes--if they're on mine and not my chest, there's a plus...then I talk to them. Sometimes just the personality helps...I've learned to look beyond looks (all the good looking men I know are either taken, shallow or GAY).

To me it's both. First it's their personality, but I don't want to look at someone the rest of my life or whatever who doesn't attract me with looks either. My husband's personality is what got my attention. Then when I seen his body, I was in love for life. We got married.

I tell myself it is shape of their body, their smile, the look in their eyes, the strength of personality, their intellect but I suspect that it is a response the cause of which I am not consciously aware, pheromones perhaps? all the best urban

Well when I was dating I would have to say the guys personality is what attracted me the most. Also if he liked to have fun. Lifes to short not to have fun and do things. He also had to like things like camping and fishing and stuff like that.

Personality all the way. I don't care what someone looks like as long as they can carry on a nice conversation. In high school I had a major crush on this really hot guy. This went on for a couple of months and before I knew it we were dating. Two weeks into the relationship I realized that this guy couldn't carry on a conversation to save his life. So annoying! I spent our time together...avoiding him and broke up with him after a month. I learned my lesson!

It's more about their personality to me, then from there if I wish for it to be more then a friendship, I look at whether or not I'm physically attracted to the person. The characteristics that attract me to a man is his wit, his sense of humour, his general position on life. Physically, I'm attarcted to blue eyes, long lashes, and oddly enough, men who aren't muscular or thin.
