My vehicle was just repossesed and I paid for it!!

I have just had a very traumatic evenening. My vehicle, that I purchased for my husband was just repossesed. I was in complete shock, the person taking my vehicle said that the finance company advised him that I had not made a payment since September. I stammered and advised this is not true I have in fact paid some very large sums over the past three months via western union and I could show them to him. He says to me there is nothing I can do about that, take it up with them, I had no choice but to hand over my vehicles. Of course this is at 6:00 in the evening on a Saturday so when I call the finance company they are of course closed. I left a message demanding to know how they can say I am behind $890 when I have paid them $1,240. As the guy is leaving he tells my husband that Turner Acceptance is the worst company to deal with and we are better off just getting a new vehicle. I dont think so!! If I paid for that vehicle I want it back! I cannot believe this is happening to me, I am mortified. Have you ever had a vehicle reposses unjustly? Did you get it back? Was it a battle? Any advise I could get right now would be appreciated.
