Cool discussion. I would have to say that, by far, The Color And The Shape is my favourite Foo Fighters album! I love every single song on that album. The self titled album is also really good though.

My vote for best Foo Fighters' album is their double cd release "In Your Honor". Not only is it two cds filled with rock and acoustic masterpieces, it also features some of probably Dave Grohl's most intelligent lyrics. The seperation of rock and acoustic tracks in two different cds works well as this gives listeners a more cohesive feel. The album is definitely more consistent and more memorable thatn their other titles released. The album also features guest star's such as John Paul Jones, Norah Jones, and Josh Homme. For this Foo Fighters fan, "In Your Honor" is arguably the band's best album yet.

I don't think The Foo Fighters have topped "The Colour and the Shape yet". There are so many classic songs on that album with my favorite being "My Hero". It's not like their subsequent albums are average or anything. It's just that none of those albums match the fervor of "The Colour and the Shape".

"There is nothing left to lose" is probably my favourit but theres so little between them that its hard for me to choose. Every album seems to have a couple of absolute classics. I came to enjoy Foo fighters late in the day so I've still to get to grips with some of the earlier material. The intensity of the music really appeals to me and also some of the extreme contrasts in their sound. I did think they would feature more prominently here.
