I think Australia is a safe place to live, as well a place that you can lead an enjoyable lifestyle. Many other countries are probably as safe, but it just depends what area of that country you live in.

I personally don't think that any place is a safe place to live. Everyone seems to be fighting and starting terrorism, and wars. Is it all necessary? Man, what is this world coming to? Is any place really safe anymore?
