I am sure i will shift to windows Vista, but only when my laptop is more that 5 GHz processor and 4 GB RAM or more. Becuase Microsoft engineers are expected us to have super computers to run Vista!!!!

yes, that's true, need a lot of memory and space to run the vista very well.

I am using Windows XP still but have changed the look into Windows Vista through a Vista Transformation Pack by Windows X. Excellent Job.

Windows vista is not ready yet. Don't upgrade until your forced. Theres nothing in Vista that you can't do with XP.

I haven't found an operating sistem that is exactly to my liking yet, but I prefer Linux to Windows, any flavour of Linux. Maybe its because of the degree of control that it gives me over my computer.

I like the look and theme of windows vista, it's like linux and mac but as far as functionalities are concerned, I'd rather stay with Windows XP. and later I'm planning to shift to Linux for good...it's an open source so it's free with better functionalities and features.

I don't have any plans of switching to windows vista in the next few months. I know that it will cost a lot of money because it is still new. What are the its features anyway?

i will be staying with windows xp 64 bit, vista is too busy it has too many user friendly features which supposedly help you using it especially for beginners. if you purchase the upgrade version you need windows xp installed to instal lthe upgrade and once instalation is complete you have already used 15gb for the operating system alone where as xp is no more than 2gb on its own. vista uses a lot more resources so you need a high powered pc with plenty of memory and hard drive space. for a user like me who knows what they are doing vista has too many unnessecary extra features and it would probably take a long time to disable them to make the whole thing run faster and more efficient. For a new user vista may be good or even novice users as its intended to make computing a lot easier, if anything they should bring out a LITE version or a version for more advanced users without all the simple bells and whistles added on that we dont already use on our current operating systems.

I will not shift my OS to M$ Vista and to their future releases. I have found the best OS for me and it's FreeBSD. 2nd is Linux. As for window$, XP is gonna be the last Windows version that i will use, just for recording my music using cooledit. When Ardour(recording software similar to protools) gets out of it's beta stage, i will completely dump M$ Window$.

I'll stick to my Win XP Pro first. Like all first launch softwares it's bound to be full of bugs. Not to mention the HUGE system requirement it needs just to operate. Have you seen the system requirements for Vista? With it's requirements some people may need to purchase a new computer. Money for Bill Gates and all Computer Manufacturers.

I'm currently using XP. I don't plan to upgrade until I get a new pc. I figure that will allow enough time for the kinks to be worked out.

I've read on some forums in the net that Windows Vista still have those bugs so I think, I better stay with my current OS which is Windows XP...

I'd probably wait a year before considering shifting to vista. That should give them time to patch some of the bigger holes that are sure to be discovered upon its initial release.
