i think that orkut is necessary to remain in contact with the friends as u can't call them everyday and talk to them. so if u have computer and net connection then orkut is going to solve ur problem. this is what it has done with me at least. i m now more organized and spend less on calling my frnds on telephone or mobile. this saves a lot of money and u can talk with many frnds simultaneously so it also offers effective utilisation of time.
