I just saw a post with someone claiming to be part of a christian group that owns and orphanage. I can here the next line that will go into someone's private message, right after the friend's request is approved. "We are looking for parties to help us in our charitible endeavor......" Never donate money to outfits that solicit it, especially online. Most of the time its just a cover for people whoa re actually cyber beggars or the get your bank information and clean your account out. Some of the sams will actually have you launering money gained through illegal activities, which leaves you here in the USA facing a jail sentence, and the scam artists in their own country, free from prosecution, and looking for another idiot to take the fall! BEWARE!!!

Excellent points. Many people fall for the lines that appeal to them. Kids, animals and the envornment are all used to scam innocent people of their hard earned money. Thanks for sending the warning out.

You are right about making donations through groups. I would have to actually see the post and know that it had a link that could be traced back to the original donation source before I would even think of giving money ~Donna

Beggar - Beware
Thank you for that excellent piece of advice. I will certainly be careful I really only give to charities I am familiar with and definitely not online.

You are right about that. I read where a city treasurer fell for the nigerian scam and used city money to help the poor prince out. People are easily duped. Thanks for posting this so people will be discussing this!
