There are so many ways that if we follow, domestic power consumption reduces to a great extent. However, unfortunately most of us do not know about those simple things. This is a serious discussion. Remember electricity can kill a person. So, no joke or misguidance please. Those who can give us some good and scientifically acceptable ideas about reducing power consumption, please come forward...

My electric bill is around $80 a month because we use the equalizer. But I still try to save otherwise. I buy the new energy efficient light bulbs. During the day I turn off the heat in rooms I don't use and keep the door closed. Turn down the heat and wear sweaters and socks in the house. Cook foods by bulk such as soup that you can freeze to warm up later in the microwave and you wont have to use your stove as much. My house is all electric and my stove uses alot of energy. In the 1970's we had an energy crunch and the electric bills were sky high. I would get anyways or dishes or anything I wanted hot water for done in the morning then turn off the hot water. I would turn it on later in the evening until it was hot again, then turn it off for the night and it would still be warm in the morning. I was surprised how much that saved me on the bill. The body adapts to cold and heat. It takes about two weeks, so turn down that heat, put on a sweater and you soon will get use to it. Same way in the summer. I do not run the air conditioner 24/7. With the house closed up the air stays cool. At night I open windows and enjoy the fresh air. But I live in the country, and I don't have the noise of a city. So my ideas may not help someone in the city around alot of concrete.

Hi, Since you are in country side. please try take a stainless steel tank. Paint it balack or paste black carbon papers throughout its outer surface. Then keep it at a place where it can be exposed to sunlight thoroughly throughout the day. Fel water in that early morning, this will will give you warm water in the evening. Just ty this.

Remember: A tube light (CDL) (40W)is the best solution for an ordinary bedroom. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL)isavailable at as low as 03W. See that you use electronic ballast with your tube lamp. If you use electromagnetic ballast, that should be from any ISO certidfied maker.

Instead of buying a 60W GLS (General Lighting Service)lamp (popularly called an electric bulb), go for a good quality (branded)18W CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp). The efect will be the same or better. You will save a lot of power, and threby your energy cost will come down.

mine touches the 2000rs mark sometimes...u can use power saver lighting sytems in ur house to reduce the cosumption...ok..now i would like to show some of the applainces at home that consumes a large amount of power...electric iron---use it carefully, any forgetfullness can lead to huge bill...actually all the iron boxes have the ratings marked on it...same is inc ase of microwaves n water heater coils...to reduce the bill ...use these things carefully so as to reduce the total kwh(kilowatt hour)(i.e.the energy consumed)...also see that ur refrigerator doors r closed properly if not this can also be a reason for your high bills...actually these things can be calculated easily...by nothing the time n amt of power consumed...

Our electric bill is around 150.00 per month. I live in South Carolina, and in the summer it gets hot, so I keep the blinds shut and lights off during the day.I do laundry after 700pm, rates are a few cents lower and the sun is down and the house is a little cooler. During the winter, I keep the lights off during the day and open the blinds and use the fire place alot.
