How do you stop someone from bitting their nails?

I think they should apply something bitter to their nails or a lotion so that they dont bite their nails for fear of eating the lotion.

If you find out let me know. I have been a nail biter for years. I have been trying to quit but its really hard. I get them so long and the next thing I know I chewed them off. Half the time I don't even know that I have done it. I need to have nice nails by August but I'm struggling.

Easy, here try my tip. When I see her/him bitting their nail I will ask this question " Excuse me, It's look like you're enjoying your nail, I wonder how good it's taste? Can I taste it?" Then hold his/ her hand and act like you want to taste it :) :) Guarantee he/she will stop that bad habit.
