How many people live in a museum?

Of course I'm refering to a home where someone feels everything has to be perfectly positioned and clean. My mother has such a home. While my wife and I stayed there ( in the process of buying a house ) it felt like we couldn't do or touch anything. If we left something for a second ( going to the bathroom, taking a break ) we'd return to find it gone. It made everything uncomfortable. My wife and I hated it. Now that we have our own home my wife is starting to show the same tendancies as my mother. She is totally stressing out over every little speck or thing thats outa place. Whats up with that? I prefer to keep things controllably neat. I'm not going to stress out because something won't fit back into its "place". I want my home to feel lived in not like a meuseum. Whats your opinions?

Excessive cleaning and neatness is a sign of obsessive/compulsive disorder. Sometimes stress can trigger this, so perhaps the debt of buying a new home has affected your wife? No matter how much I straighten up and tell myself I'm going to keep things that way, it's just a matter of time before things pile up!

Wow. what a story... Your wife has habbit just like Your mother about home museum. Maybe she thought that it must be everything on the place like at Your mother home. I think You need to talk with her about this, and that You aren't like Your mother, and that You don't need to have museum of your home. Since this happen with You, my opinion is to learn language of love, it seems that you two don't speak same language....
