Chinese New Year is around the corner! Firstly, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL CHINESE MYLOT-ERS!!! On February 18 2006, the Chinese People from all around the world will usher the beginning of the Year of the Pig with family gatherings, ang paows (red packets with money stuffed inside for blessing) and much celebration! In Malaysia, the Chinese New Year is greeted with lion dances, the blasts of fire crackers and young children wishing their elders good health! How will the Chinese New Year Celebration be like at your hometown?

Yeah,Happy new year to you, myjhien! I am from China, and thanks for your greetings! In some provinces and cities of south China, they do have the same tradation to celebrate New year as in Malysia, such as in Guangdong, Hongkong, and there are also the lion dances. In my hometown, there is no lion dance, but we have the similar way to celebrate new year. sorry, but I don't know how to express it in English. It is a kind of party, and there are some shows where the performers wear the Chinese traditional dresses. we also bless the elders good health, and the elders give the Children some money as new year gift. My winter holiday is coming, and I will return to my hometown to celebrate the new year with my familly. I have not seen them for about one year because I am in univeristy. Really expect the winter holiday comes soon! Happy new year to all the Friends!
