Many years ago I worked in the surgical department of a small hospital. I started my work day at 7:00 A.M. and finished my day at 3:30 P.M. My work clothes consisted of green scrub clothes. The nurses I worked with started their day at 8:00 A.M. and finished at 4:30 P.M. These nurses never saw me in any clothes but my work clothes. One day, while walking downtown with my Mom and younger sister, I saw one of the nurses that I worked with headed our way on the same sidewalk. As we got close I said "Good afternoon Sandy." She looked at me and said, "Bob?" I said "Yes" Her next comment was, "Gee, you look different in clothes." You should have seen the looks on my Mom and my sisters faces. I'll never forget it.

While walking in the mall in my hometown a few years ago, I ran into an old friend. I have gained some weight since she last saw me. She ran up to me and said, "It's so good to see you. I see that you are going to be adding to your family, when is the baby due?" I laughingly told her that I WISHED that was the reason for the weight! she was mortified.
