5 washing machines in 16 years. Who can beat that???

Well… another washing machine has bit the dust so to speak. Just put a load of my work clothes on to wash & was wondering why it was so quiet. Went for a look, and nothing!!! Not a sound not a movement, it just filled with water & stopped. I checked every setting still nothing. I had to manually drain the machine with buckets as I didn’t have a hose long enough to go low & outside. Hung the wet soggy washing on the line to drip dry. In my nearly 16 years of marriage last count I have gone though 5 washing machines, out of all of them only one was ever brand new, Trying to save money by using hand me downs from family & 2nd hand machines. Is 5 washing machine in 16 years good or bad? Who else has gone though quite a few white goods or household items over time? What kind & how many?

I have the worst luck with washing machines.Over the last couple of years I went through probably five, all second hand. There have been so many times I have had to hand wash before I could come up with the money for another second hand washing machine only for that one to go belly up on me within a couple of months. Now I have a brand new one,I've had it for about six months now,I really hope this one lasts me for a few years.Wish me luck!!

Good luck ausnikki, I have just done the ring around after checking all the junk mail. We have made a stand & decided to bite the bullet & get a new machine. I'm feeling very clever atm, as I found the cheapest new 7kg front loader in the junk mail, then rang all the other stores, and asked them to beat that price. And I found someone who did... :D They are even going to take the old one away. Even the delivery charge was cheaper than the orginal place I rang. Not often I feel I did good in the bargaining dept. Yahhh Me...

I have gone though so many, I have lost count. I have been married for 30 years, and move around every 4 years. Each time I move, I get new appliances. So, how do I rate? :) Blessings, M&M

I have had about three machines in 20 years of marriage I think. The last one was sold because we moved interstate though, so it probably doesn't count. I had one second hand one when I first got married and then a new one 15 years ago. It rallied on till last year when we moved. I have bought a new one again now so hopefully it will last a while too. Good luck on your hunt.

I can! I still use the same washer and dryer we bought when I first came to the states we bought in February 1978 for the first house we ever bought, Maybe when it goes Kenmore will give me a new one for free LOL.
