Potterism Fandom: movie or book?

I've noticed recently how many more fans potterism has gained. At first i thought it was the the sheer brilliance of J.K Rowlings writing , the simplicity of the text and the fact that it was in the kiddies section. Then a pattern became clear... potterism grew with every movie that came out. With the first movie the fans of the book went to see it because of curiosity and to see their favourite characters.The audience was great in number. I was highly disappointed. But something happened with the first movie . Those who had never read the book had suddenly become fans. a similar thing happened with the second and third and fourth. The fanbase was increasing but not just for the book but for the movie. Now i wonder if the movie fanbase increase is larger than the book fanbase increase.
