peanut allergy

My son is 7 years old and has been fatally allergic to peanuts since he was two. Up until the night that he went into anaphalactic shock (after eating a single peanut M&M) he had eaten peanuts and peanut butter fine! The doctor explained that an allergy to peanuts can develop overnight just like an allergy to penicillin. We have 3 prescribed epi-pens that we take everywhere we go! (Epi-pens are automatic injectors of epinepherine) They can be administered every 15 minutes until you reach a hospital.Fortunately we have managed to avoid contact entirely so he's sufered no other reactions. We have no peanut products in our home WHATSOEVER! If anyone were to eat anything containing peanuts and then just kiss my son on the cheek, he would go into anaphalactic shock! For those of you who aren't familiar with "AS", it causes your throat to close up and your blood pressure bottoms out. Someone suffering from "AS" could be lost in as little as 4 minutes. Any one else have a family member or friend that suffers from fatal food allergies?
