I have been looking clip are and downloading pictures alot lately. I also work with the pictures alot. My computer seems a little sluggish. Could this be the reason?

I work with a lot of pictures because I do photography. And yes, my computer does bogg down when I am messing with my pictures. But that is because the RAM is being used and it doe not always dump it right away. Also, one of my RAM cards is going bad. So, it will bogg down when I am working. Maybe one of you cards are bad or maybe you need more RAM.

It wont slow down unless the content is unsafe like adware, malware, virus, trojans, spywares etc,and on the other hand clean up your temporary files also and cleaning of paging file in xp regualrly is a good thing.

It is one of the reasons. Our computer is also slow because of the pictures downloaded and uploaded from the web. After using them, try deleting some of the unimportant ones so that it will not eat up your computer's memory.

I don't think downloading images and cliparts will slow down your computer. A PC can be slow at times in myriad of reasons. Low memory, low diskspace, too many programs running simutaneously, a memory-extensive application, or even a virus. Be sure that your anti-virus and firewall programs are up-to-date when downloading from the internet. =)
