I think the tree represents ourselves. If we make ourselves good, then we are good and we do and say good things. If we make ourselves bad, naturally, our fruits or what we do or say are bad. If our works or words are good, those are proofs that we are good; if bad, then we are known to be evil or wicked.

Fruit here does not mean our children but our acts and what we say. If we speak badly and at the same time do bad works, people will identify us as bad; in the same manner, if we speak good words and we do good works, we will be known to people as good.

Fruit is the symbol of our works and speech. We are the tree and whatever we say and do is our fruit and therefore if we are good, we say and do what is good, and if we are bad, we say and do the things that are bad. And so by our speech and works, people would know us if we are good or bad.

In a simple words. You can see the quality of the tree through the fruit. If the fruit is bad, that means the tree is bad, if the fruit is good, then the tree is good. We are the fruit and Jesus is the tree. If we stick to him and not going to the other tree, we will produce good fruit. That is according to my interpretation. So, basically, it teaches us to always believe in God, walking in his path and do not forget that we cannot do anything without him

Do good and you will be known to people as good. On the contrary, do bad and people will say you are evil. What people see of you is your fruit.
