i love backhand, some people says that my backhand is more powerful than my forehand. some people having difficulty to execute one; its have a unique power compared to the forehand smash. but i can say that forehand is really a power hit compared to backhand, but backhand has it own power. so which do you prefer backhand or forehand?

Being lefthanded, I mostly use a backhand in response to my opponents shots. Because mostly, the shuttle tends to land on my right hand side. But when I go for the kill, I usually use the forehand overhead smash. Although you can't use this technic if the shuttle lands too near on the net or if the shuttle is too low to be hit.

Although the deception of a backhand smash has saved me a couple of times, I still prefer a forehand smash. In terms of physics and biomechanics, the forehand smash is much more powerful. For a forehand smash, the racket head travels from behind the body, forms an arc and then makes impact on the shuttlecock. This allows for more momentum, thus giving greater power. Most of the power also comes from the swing of the arm, which generates more power easier. For a backhand smash, the racket face (the stringbed) only starts from the same plane as the body, making it travel a shorter distance. Also, a larger amount of the power of a backhand smash comes from the flick of the wrist, which is weaker and could be painful if you're not well-trained.

i prefer doing the forehand smash.. first things first, its the simplest way of getting a score.. why make things compLicated with a backhand smash? weLL anyway, the forehand smash is power itseLf because since you smash the shuttLecock on your dominant hand and in the right position, it wouLd sureLy be difficuLt for your opponent to bring it back.. the backhand smash is aLso a nice thing to do in the court especiaLLy if your opponent Least expects it though.. basicaLLy, i wouLd go with forehand smashes but then again, i use backhand smashes in some situations..
