I do not think there should be a minimum wage. People should get paid for what the job they perform. If a business hires an employee to do a job and that person does not perform to the standards needed then he/she should only be paid for his/her worth. I think that is the problem with alot of people today being allowed to be lazy at their job. Especially with the younger generation. It bothers me to go into a business and get lowsy customer service or an employee standing around chit chatting with friends and not doing their job. I have been in management positions where the employee did not do the job and they still got paid the same amount as another person who felt passion for the job, followed the instructions given and worked in a timely manner. Whereas the first employee was slow to complete the task, did not follow instructions, was on a cell phone talking, didn't wear the proper attire and just didn't care about the job. By law I had to give a verbal warning and then had to write the person up 3 times before I could fire the person. What a waste of my time, company time let alone the bad reflection it gave on the company.

I'm not sure what I think the minimum wage should be, but I believe it should be a lot more than $5.15/hr. I don't see how anyone can live off of $10,712/year, $892.67/month before taxes. That is absolutely rediculious!
