I responded in another discussion that I am addicted to Pepsi. That has me thnking. I am also addicted to coffee.I feel like I need 2 cups of coffee as soon as I wake up.Then,it's straight to Pepsi.I have 1 more cup of coffee in the afternoon. Then, back to Pepsi. I'm really addicted to caffeine. If you had to chose, which do you think would be easier to give up coffee or soft drinks [soda, pop, whatever you call them] ? I can't imagine getting through the day without either. Is there a difference in the caffeine levels that would make it easier to give up one over the other?

Personally I think I'd have an easier time giving up soft drinks than I would giving up my coffee. I use to be very addicted to Pepsi, however it's not quite as bad anymore. I pretty much always have a coffee on the go, it's to the point if someone sees me without a cup of coffee, they ask me what's wrong, lol.

So how did you give up Pepsi? Did you have withdrawal? I'm serious. I know if I try to go without it for any long period of time I feel tired, irritable and get headaches. Did you start drinking more coffee to replace the cut in Pepsi?

I don't drink coffee but I am addicted to pepsi . I have tried to get off it different times but always end up with such bad headaches that I end up having to get a drink . Even the thought of it running low in the fridge makes me get a headache so I make sure to stock up when it is on sale . Although we go through it so fast here as my husband and one of my children drink it also . I would have to say though from what I have heard they would both be equally hard to give up . Not sure what the percentage of caffeine is in either of them but we know it is enough to keep us addicted .

I know what you mean about the headaches. It's withdrawal. My family seems to keep a close eye on how much Pepsi I have left. As much as I " need " my Pepsi, I still need that coffee, too. You would think caffeine is caffeine. But,no other soft drinks can replace my wanting Pepsi. And not even Pepsi can replace that need for coffee.

I don't think what you have told is addiction. These days, drinking coffe or tea or cold drinks two or three times a day is common habit among almost all the people. The addiction of coffe may not be that harmful comparing to areated drinks where pesticides are mixed, as proved in some countries when pepsi and coke are put to test in laboratories.

Thank you for your response. Oh I can promise you that I am just as addicted to coffee as I am to soft drinks. I am not a person to be around before I've had my coffee. If I don't have any, well I really do feel withdrawel. While it may be the norm to have 2-3 cups a day, some people could skip that and feel fine. Many of us can not let go of it so easily.

It depends on the attachment you are having towards pepsi or coffee. If you like pepsi most then coffee is easy to give up or vice versa
