Democracy in Pakistan

hi friends, What is your opinion about the restoration of democratic governement in Pakistan? Would Gen Musharaf allowed the people to choose a government of their own or would he be continuing as a militry ruler of the Pakistan?

if you did not know this so i will tell you that the government annouced on march 24,2000,its plan for devolution of power,unvelied by chief executive gen. pervez mussharaf on march 23,2000 was in line with the consitution,and added that it would take steps to secure the future of the new system. everyting under the new system of district government stemmed from article 7 and 32 of the constitution.the district government would have 13 major departments under them. these department are health, education, literacy, commerce and industries, law,agriculture, coordination,finance, planing and dudget, public work, enviroment, democratic development, information tecnology, revenue, and magistracy. "the distric administration will initally be set up with the existing line departments. however, it will gradually move toward corporate governance driven by an entrepreneurial approach".this involves the introduction of a customer-service orientation toward the citizenry, result-based nanagement through acievement indicators, performence evaluations, hiring promotions, transfers and firing based on monitoring through committees." the tehsil councils will perform two main function: 1)provision of municipal service to the entire tehsil through the local government functionaries serving under the control of the major; 2)and coordination the monitoring of the district government functionaries at tehsil level. a citizen of paksitan ,at least 25 year of age ,prssessing a good moral character and enrolled as a voter in electral roll of the relevent union, could contest these elections. a candidate cannot contest elections if he is for the time being disqualified feom being elected;is a will full tax evader or a loan defaulter, or has not paid his/her utility bills, or is an undischarged insolvent: has been gulity of a corrupt or illegal practice; has been convicted for any offence involving moral turpitude and has been sentenced to imprisonment, unless a period of five years has elapsed since is/her release;has been removed/compulsorily retired from the service of paksitan unless a period of five years has elapsed since his removal; is a public government servant; holds any effice of profit in the service pakstan except lumbaradars, qaumi razakars etc; is propagating any openion or acting prejudicial to ideology, sovereignty, integrity, security of pakistan etc.
