I'm from Dallas, Tx. Anyone know of any numbers or places where they do free health screenings, or if there are even free mamograms out there? I'm concerned about my mother, she's going through some things and would really like to see how I can help her. I've been looking online but haven't really found much yet.

I'm in the DFW area also. Have you tried Baylor? I know they have free heart disease screenings. Here's the link: http://www.baylorhealth.com/

I have'nt but I will look it up. So far I think I've found parkland does some free stuff and helps you get on some cheap programs. Thanks so much.

How old is she? The reason I ask is that medicare will pay for mammograms for those who have medicare already. There are usually state programs as well that will cover all or most of the cost of the procedure. Check with her doctor to find out if there is such a program in the area. If her doctor does not know of any, you can call the health & human resources offices in your area to see if there is a state program, as they would have information. Good luck!!

She is 44. I have been thinking about that also. She doesn't have medicare but I'm trying to talk her into looking into it. She doesn't have a doctor yet because of her financial situation but hopefully soon she will. Thanks very much for your help in responding.
