Do we as a species thrive on the chaos and distruction of others and ourselves?

I just read a story of a man fumigating in Miami. Seems there were some cats living under the buildings that were being tented. Witnessess say they even asked the man to lift a small portion of the tent to let them out. OH MY GOD!! How can our beings be so full of this meaness and apathy for other living beings. I am so upset right now. These are the reasons I do not have a television. (well, I have one, just no sattelite or cable). Most things I read and hear about are so awful that I cry to think what horrors this world holds for others. I know I am venting and you are the best listners. I don't expect you to respond. It's nice but writing these discussions I think helps more sometimes than recieving the replies. Don't get me wrong!... I love everything you have to say, good, bad or indifferent!! I hope the gods and goddesses have mercy on us and grant that we may find more love and compassion in our daily lives! Blessing to you all! :]

I can not agree with you more. It is so sad that this world people have become so heartless. But at the same time, we have other people at are so compassionate. I know life is cruel, this is why I do not watch much TV myself. But we also must remember there is a balance for everything. As hard as it is, life has always been balance and the media seems to like to report the negative side rather than the positive. Oh, don't get me wrong, they report positives too. But they are less heard of become we are so shocked or hurt from the negatives the the good stuff just gets brushed to the side. That is horrible what that man did. And I am saddened that someone could be so heartless. But I also believe in karma. So I am certain he will get what he deserves...three folds! Blessed Be.
