Will you switch off your mobile phone when watching movies in the theater?

I found out that a lot of people still didn't switch off their mobile phone when they're watching the movies in theater. The worst thing is not because they're talking in the phone because usually they'll lower their voice but is the music, the ring tone especially those are using mp3 songs as their ring tone. People often needs a few seconds to grep their phone in the darkness and sometimes it turns out to be quite annoying too. Personally I'll switch off my phone as I don't want to be disturbed and at the same time disturbing other people as well.

I hate when people have those annoying songs playing and they stumble about to find their phone. I either leave mine in the car, put it on vibrate, or turn it off. A lot of people say they dont need to do any of those because they "Dont get signal in the theater anyway". Personally I dont understand why they all need to bring their phone in and have it on anyway. You're watching a movie, you wont be making a call.

I guess turn it to vibrate is okay. At least others won't need to hear those songs.

I switch it mostly off, just out of respect, but sometimes I forget but I never use ringtones so it's not a problem than. And it's indeed disturbing when other people let them on with heavy ringtones!

I very rarely go to the movies. But when I do, I'll put my phone on silent.

i do not switch off my cell phone one.i rather have it in the silent mode because i will never want to miss the calls or messages because we may never know when we are needed and when there will be an emergency.so this way i do not disturb others and i keep myself available so that i can be ready to communicate with others without having to disturb anyone.

No not switch off but on silent mode. Because some time urgent call may be come. Yes if ringing loudly the phone means disturbed.

I try to remember to turn off my phone every time I'm in a theater or any other place where a phone call would be inappropriate. No one ever calls me, so even if I forgot, there wouldn't be a problem.

I always try to put my mobile on vibration while I am in the theatre so that other people will not be disturbed when my mbile will ring.

If I do go to the movies I leave my phone on vibrate. I leave the kids with my sister so just in case something happens I leave it on vibrate. I will check to see who is calling and if it is not my sister I don't bother. If it is I walk out before I answer or call back.

I don't switch it off - but I turn it on silent. I don't wear a watch so if I want to check the time I can. I agree though everyone should turn if off or put it on silent and not answer it. If it's important enough they'll call back or you can step outside for a moment.
