Do you have any stories of animals spotted in odd places? (Fox in shoe store)

A fox was spotted browsing in a shoe shop in West London recently, and caused the shop to have to close it's doors until the animal was removed from the premises. Apparently it wandered in behind a customer and wasn't spotted at first because it was simply trotting along behind a woman and a pram! *laugh* Do you have any stories of spotting an animal in an odd place? I live in a big city, and I once saw a fox outside, honest to goodness, in my neighbor's yard. It ran away after it spotted me and stood there for a bit! You can read more about the shoe-shopping fox here: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2172246.html?menu=news.quirkies

Haha..Well the funniest, scariest thing that has happened. I'm on my way out the door to go to work and this squirrel just ran in my house upstairs...Thank gawd my doors were closed..After about 5 minutes with a broom, he dodged back downstairs but didn't leave. I had to get my neighbor to run him out finally after 10 minutes of this thing running all around my house but outside... Very good article..brought back my squirrel incident..lol

LOL!! That is really cute, although I'm sorry that it took you so long to get the offending squirrel back out of your home! But it's funny that he just ran in there and wanted to stick around! It sounds to me like he thought that he had found a new home! *laugh* ^_^

We have been through some terrible hurricanes these past few years and the animals were walking right downtown as everything was flooded. The best one was on the local news ,a deer had gotten into someones home and destryed it literally trying to get out. It finally jumped through the glass and escaped.I felt bad for it poor thing he was so scared. Blood everywhere ...

Maybe the fox was looking for some snow boots or even some Hush Puppies. ha ha ha I don't think I can say that I have seen any animals in strange places. Even thought those over sized rabbits in Texas on the Air Force training place seemed strange to me. But that was only because they were as big as a Great Dane dog! :O

I heard a weird story this morning about a wallaby being loose in Pennsylvania. They have no idea where it came from. The best guess is that someone bought it illegally, and couldn't take care of it.

Oh, I read that news story today as well! I hope that they were able to catch the wallaby and take it somewhere safe. It's really strange that it was found so far from it's normal home.

Back in about 1969, when I was in high school, a deer got into my high school. That was back before deer were overpopulated like they are now, so it was really an unusual event. The poor thing ran up and down the hall banging against the lockers before crashing out through a plate glass window. There was no blood, so we always hoped he was unhurt. My school was in a larger town with no forests or anything around, so no one ever knew what that deer was doing there. We just knew that he made for an exciting day at school.

Bears playing - This is just wayy to cute!! I wish i would have been here!
Some people build swimming pools in their back yards. But outdoor pools in Alaska just won't work. my friend Sarah and her family live in Alaska,on the outskirts of Anchorage. They decided to build a sturdy, colorful playground for their 3 and 4 year old sons, with smooth-stone gravel all around it to avoid knee scrapes and other injuries. They finished building it on one Saturday evening last summer, and the next morning, as the Sarah was about to wake up the Dillan and Seth and have them go out to play in their new play center, this is what she saw from the upstairs window, This was sent to me from an email..I loved this so much i saved it..and im glad i did, here is a pic of the 4 i have that she sent me..

Actually yes i think that this happened about 8 months ago. My brother in law and sister were in IGA in Peace River and an actual bear walked right in through the sliding doors. My brother in law actually even got bit by the bear on his hand while trying to chase it out. He had to go to the hospital but fortunately it wasn't serious!

Yes, There has been one particular incident that caused a near havoc in our place in south india. One summer noon, when i was a child, i stepped out of my bungalow. I was amazed to find a Peacock just infront of me, turning it`s head several times in seeral directions. It seemed tensed. And, to me, as a child, i thought it was going to peck me to pieces. Just a few minutes later, my mom called up the zoo authorities, and had the peacock taken away. It was really an amusing experience...lol. Another incident happened to my relative, once, when he went out to buy a newspaper, he found a king cobra confronting him. He had to somehow manage without moving a limb, for about an hour, after which he was rescued..phew!

In Salt Lake City, it is fairly common to see deer or moose or mountain lions in back yards.

Well, I wouldn't call this too odd, but there was a bear found 40 minutes away from where I live. It was found in someones back yard! I thought it was interesting anyway!

Hi I used to be a Long Distance Truck Driver, and one day very early in the morning, I was driving through Wareham in Dorset, and down the High Street was a STAG! "Bold As Brass" it was, trotting down the road like it had not a care in the world!! I was astonished!! The FUNNIEST animal I ever saw in a BIG city was a Rat! Not a big deal you think!!! ..... This was LONDON on the Inner City Orbital (The Great North Road) !! Traffic like you have never seen in your life!! "Nose to Tail" traffic!! NOISY !!!! And there, on the side of the pavement, was a RAT, nibbling on his food, like he was in an open field!! Made me smile!!!

once came outa Mr. Panda's chinese buffet to see elephants in the field next door, this was in San Antonio, Texas where the only elephants are in the zoo or when the circus comes to town so I thought it quite odd to see 3 elephants grazing in an open field of the access road of loop 1604.

Our local fair used to be kicked off with a cattle drive down the Boulevard, and one time one of the steers got away from the herd and ran through a Washington Mutual. This was a little bit before the security doors you have to go through now.

there's also this old chinese restaurant in downtown manila. (ongpin area) which has an in-house full of wild boar, guinea pig, parrots, and other exotic animals. such a great sight for kids.. but hmm..kinda unusual nonetheless.
