What will you do if your kid's school bus has forgotten to fetch her from school

it happened to my kid when she was in grade 2... i really freaked out. the school guard called us up to say that my daughter was still there. when i called up the school bus driver, he admitted that he forgot to get my daughter during his 2nd trip. my husband and i were really mad, and when i talked to the bus operator, i asked him, what he would do if it happened to his own daughter... he couldn't answer me because he knew that he would have reacted the same way that i reacted towards him. and yes... we immediately transferred her to another school bus service....

Well I would be calling the school finding out were my daughter was. I personally don't know how she could of gotten forgotten as a 2nd grader most schools have the kids line up and they go out to the busses as a class. Also was this the first few day's of school. I would not put the blame totally on the bus driver he/she has ALOT of kids on that bus. I would be talking to the principal about a new policy for getting on the bus. Good luck and ThankGod your daughter was ok

yes, it was the first week of school. her dad and i were still on our way home when it happened and my mom was the one who received the call from the school that my daughter was still there. good thing one of her teachers didn't leave her until she was safely picked up. but, i think you're right, i should have talked to the principal about it... thanks!

One thing I have noticed is that the first few days of school are always hctic with the bussing schedules. Not that that is a good reason, but they are working out all there glitches with busses. Like I said thogh no excuse for your daughter gettting left.

i would be very angry if this happened . in our primary schools a member of school staff waits with the kids to make sure they are all on the bus. with the older girls they have to walk through town to get their bus . if they miss it they ring me or go back to school and tell someone. usually they ring me though and it doesnt happen too often .

I would be very upset and very scared and am a very over protective mother and worry every day my kids go on the bus. A lot of days my husband will drive them to school and I make sure that I am at the bus stop when they come home. We are trusting the bus drivers to be responsible with our children.

You must not pay them, and if you have pay them before-hand,they must give you refund. And report the driver for forgetting to fetch your daughter.

oh how scary! i would be freaking out. I have a tendency to just shriek and do what i have to do to find my daughter when she for a moment gets out of my sight. shes only 2 so i put her in the cart with me when i go shopping but sometimes she likes to get off and try to be independent. and she's fine with holding my hand but it really slows things down. if i get distracted for even a second and turn around and she is not there i drop everything and scream her name. it happened yesterday, lol she was right behind me looking at some candy at the checkout. but everyone around me saw me freak, it was sort of embarrasing. But, to have the school bus miss your child!! that is scary i think to both the mother and the child. i know i'd be scared if i were her. id be thinking, If the school bus missed me then how am i going to get home?! aw your poor daughter. she's very brave!
