for my two weeks of stay here in mylot, i got the following answers to that questions: Stars tell you your rating.. see the number inside the stars? the higher the number, the higher is the blogger's reputation.. you can make your reputation high by posting quality answers, comments, and suggestions, that may be more than 3-5 sentences.. the "best response" mark is chosen by the blogger who starts the discussion.. say, in this discussion, you will see the "mark best response" beside my profile picture [in color blue].. when you press that, that means you chooses me as the one who gave you the best answer you are looking for.. beside every post are ratings for comments.. you see them in at the right side: the plus sign (+), the minus sign (-) and the exclamation point(!).. plus sign-- rate the user positively minus sign-- negatively exclamation-- report abuse hope this one answer your questions..^^

Its me! I gave you the best reply yesterday because out of the people who did reply~I felt like you really understand where I am coming from. Not that the others were not helpful, but I liked where you said if we were honest we all have felt that way at one point or another. Have a good day~

The star and number is "reputation". You get them from ratings of your responses, best responses, or negative responses and abuse ratings. Best response is purely at the discretion of whoever posted the discussion. You can be rated by other people, too. Any post (and any discussion) can be rated, in any way, whether you're in the discussion or not. Think of it as quality control. There's a lot of posts on ratings, hit any profile and you'll find at least one.
