SATA II HardDisk?SATA Harddisk? IDE Harddisk? Which one are you?

I, myself i am using SATA 2 HDD, fast enough to run windows and use application software. What is the type of HDD you using now?

im using ide hdd now but i will upgrade it up yo sata II

Mine also SATA interface but I am not sure if it's II or not. How do you actually find it out about it? It's a seagate 80GB. And yes SATA is faster than it's counter part IDE interface.

what motherboard are you? maybe you can specify it so we know your motherboard will support SATA2. By the way, you can get your HDD out from you system(casing) and take a look on it, the label on the HDD which will written something like SATA2 on there, Samsung,Maxtor,Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi and so on. Of cos SATA is faster you can experienced it by running the booting of windows.

Mine is SATA hard disk of 160GB power. Can I know the difference between the '2' and ordinary model. It is posible for us to upgrade it.

you can't upgrade using firmware or software. You only able to upgrade by purchasing a new unit of hard disk, before that you have to make sure that you motherboard will support SATA 2 function else it will running in SATA 1 mode. The situation is like ATA100 and ATA133 differ, but in SATA it differ more.

I'm at home using seagate sata II 120 GB, pretty fast compare my older seagate 40 GB, but quiet noisy my sata II HDD, but it is cool, the temperature is only arround 39 - 41 degree celcius full load, compare to my old seagate pata is arround 46 degree celcius - 49 degree celcius, very very makes me worried. what about yours ?
