Have you ever wished that you had kept your home as an investment?

Looking back at what I had I could've kept and sold years later at a whopping profit.I bought a house in 1964, with an ocean view for 8,500. 24 years later it was worth 200,000. Now it is worth 550,000. I sold it for 174,000, in 1992.Sometimes I wish I still had this house because I would be worth 1/2million dollars. How about you?

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing!I have two similar stories..... One concerns a house I sold six years after I bought it. I bought it for 183,000 and sold it for 330,000 so made a profit at the time; but only three months later the suburb boomed due to the announcement of a new estate next door and the minimum going rate for a house in my street was around 450,000!!! The second involved shares. I had a chance to buy into a mining company at only half a cent a share. I didn't because everyone warned me against it. Only five months later they literally struck gold and the company was bought out by another mining company for 38.5 cents a share!! I would have spent around 5,000 and turned it into almost 400,000 in less than six months!!! Oh well, we can only look back and laugh I guess.....
