Ban on smoking in cars...what do you think?

So, today while listening to the radio they were discussing how there are 2 states that have already banned smoking in cars while children are present. What do you think about this? Personally, I think it is a great idea to a point. Why should innocent children be subjected to second hand smoke? They aren't the ones smoking and yet they are suffering because of the adults who are. However, what stops parents from smoking in their homes with their children around? I don't like however, that people cannot smoke in their own cars, that they own. I think it should be a personal choice...you own the vehicle right? I guess I am more for the ban because of the childrens sake, but can understand why people are pretty mad about it. What is your opinions?

actually, its all about freedom... taking an action against smoking is a good defense. Regarding to laws, we shouldnt force to take it all over us. smokers should discipline themselves. I say, smoking in the car should or could be implemented.

But by implementing the law whether or not someone can smoke in their own car is taking away peoples rights. Personally, I won't buy a car that has been smoked in because that smell really grosses me out. However many people smoke and don't mind the smell at all. If the laws pass about not smoking in your car, what would be next? Not smoking in our own home? It just seems hard to me, to find where we can draw the line. Keeping our children safe, or our individual rights.

I also agree that everyone should be doing this...not smoking in the presence of children. They are our future and if we love them as much as we say--we would not want to harm them directly or indirectly.
