I don't know why some people don't chose a best response. I am sure there are some people that never go back and rate or even read responses. According to the discussion guidelines we are supposed to rate responses and choose a best response. Some people like myself like to wait for a bit before deciding. But I know what you mean. I have seen discussions that are 3 months old and don't have a best response. I don't know what the reasoning could be.

mabye they feel that the responses so far are not yet the best of the best. and please do not be preoccupied with that. if you are just true and wise with your responses then someday somebody will reward you for that. the more you go after the rewards, the more it will elude you, so just keep on posting and have fun!

I always choose a best response in my discussions but unfortunately few people do it... I noted that the majority of people want just to earn money without seeking to understand: I started "do you rate your responses?" and somebody with more than 2000 messages didn't know that rating and marking best response increase earning!!! it is pitiful!!!

I think many people are just after the money and they don't care much for others so they never rate or give best response as it doesn't directly effect their own earnings .. this is really selfish, i give best response within a day or two for discussions with many responses and can leave other discussions for up to 1 month to allow more chance for people to respond before choosing if there's very few responses but I always choose a best reponce..

The person who started the discussion may be waiting a few days if not longer to see who all will reply to their topic. Once they think they topic has been up for a while then they are able to pick a best answer easier. That may be one reason why a person has not choosen a best answer yet. That is what I do anyway. Other then that maybe they do not think anybody has answered well enough to be given that credit, they forget, or they are just lazy. :)

I do mark a best response. I wait a few days, though to make sure everyone has responded. I realize that the discussion can go on after a response is marked "best," but I don't want people to think their response won't matter.

I found that a lot of times when I start a discussion there really isn't any response good enough to receive any special credit.

I do not choose the best responses as I don't feel the discussion is ever closed. If the discussion never ends, how can I decide who has given the best answer?
