Why Do people agree with you???

Why is it that the bulk of people, when you are having a conversation with them - they will agree with what you say. Even if they dont really agree?? We have all done it at one point or another.. But Why?

Maybe cause we all have the desire for someone who we respect to like us back. So we try too hard to please them by agreeing with them when we dont. maybe so they can try to relate ? i'm not sure, maybe i am nieve but how could you tell someone is actually doing that ?
