give or take?

I have replied at http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/92721.aspx?p=3 I have taken serious and logical reply on this discussion as follow: If I was a boxer, I would prefer give to take. If I only took the punches, I would be one of the punches to my face. If I was a good man in the society, I would give donation to poor people, monks,novices and nuns less than 5% of my salary. I am such a giver.

I used to believe I was more of a giver. However, as I have gotten older, I can better see the selfishness of my heart and in the important issues of life I have often been a taker. Regrets for sure.

I think I'm more of a giver than a taker.

I always believe in the saying that its better to give than to receive, but not to the point of being a doormat! As they say, only the give gets...

ONLY A GIVER GETS...

I am confused about this. Sometimes I feel i give a lot and sometimes i take a lot. This is a question i have yet to find the answer for.
