Another great topic! Yes, My husband and I have the most fun doing random acts of kindness, it's awesome fun and soooo, well for us satisfying. Oh what is even more fun is if you hear about it down the line somewhere. Love the old buy the car behind lunch at the drive thru, the giving away something like a barrette, pin, watch or whatever just because someone says they like it, giving annoymously to someone groceries, or cash when you know they have a need and so much more. And I believe what goes around comes around. For reasons I won't go into here all of my living, dining, and bathroom walls were torn down unexpectedly - and we just couldn't afford to get them back up and one day a friend came by with a load of Sheetrock and put all the walls up, mudded them and well its wonderful we didn't ask he just did it. And thereis always the nice person in line who offers the 10 cents your short. Blessings everywhere. Thanks for letting me share :)

Yep. The Monday after Thanksgiving 2006, I rang the bell for Salvation Army for the Christmas season. After hurricane Katerina, I had no cash, but I did take $50. of food to the SA for them to distribute.

When I lived in Salt Lake City I used to take groceries and blankets to an old man who had no home and spent his days begging for change. After a few weeks of doing this, he told me that he had come to SLC to find his daughter and her husband but they had been killed in a car accident shortly before he arrived. He had no where to go and was sleeping in an abandoned pick up in a junkyard nearby. He was disabled and elderly and we had a spare room and offered it to him, but he didn't want to be a burden. So I went twice a week with groceries and bottled water to give him. This went on for several weeks. He disappered one day and I never saw him again. I found the truck he had been sleeping in. Food wrappers from the groceries that I bought and the blankets were inside this old truck with busted out windows. I never found out what happened to him, but I hope that I made a small part of his life just a little easier.

I know that last year it has been a very cold winter over here over the last year or so. And we we're trying to catch a cab to go on home. And we had witnessed a homeless man sleeping on a bench close by where we we're standing. And this just made me feel absolutely terrible. And I was discussing how I wanted to do something for him but we never had anything really on us that we could give him at the time. So my other half decided to go to this subway that was close by. And I kept asking him where he was going, so I stood out there. And he came back with a sandwich & cup of soup with him. I just looked at him strangely because I never knew why he had gone to get this since we had just eaten.. Then shortly afterwards.. I witnessed him walking over to this guy & my other half put it close by this guy. And he woke up shortly afterwards while we we're still standing there waiting for a cab.. And he ended up seeing the soup & sandwich & a smile came across his face.. And he started to eat what we had given him. Tears began to fill my eyes knowing that my other half was willing to go & do this for him.. He knew how much I had felt for this man & to do this for this man touched my heart ever so deeply.. It makes a person feel like they had made a difference when someone does this for another. Other then that.. I know when I've been grocery shopping I've seen elderly people having a difficult time carrying there groceries.. And there purses or belongings are falling to the ground & other people will walk right by them.. And I will go run over quickly.. And I will help them to there car or just pick up there belongings for them while they get there groceries organized within there hands. They are more than thankful that I was willing to help them a lot of the time.. So when I do things such as this it always helps to make my day knowing that I was able to help one person out there in this world.. I feel like the reason I was put on this earth was to help others along the way.. I feel it's such a rewarding feeling when I am able to help others.. Other then that when I am out somewhere.. I will hold doors open for strangers.. In conclusion.. I personally love to help others any chance that I can get.. And I admire people who are willing to help others without expecting anything in return.. I find it's difficult to find people like this these days.. But sometimes when you are out grocery shopping.. Or you need a hand sometimes.. I find that every once in a while some kind person will come along & be willing to help you out without expecting anything in return.. I think the moments we all experience this is when we begin to have more faith that there are some kind people still left out there in this world.. Somewhere. Thanks for allowing me to share! xx
