Why do Indians love cricket so much?

Is this a legacy of the colonial era? Is there a national sport which's invented by Indians?

Cricket was invented by england, its the national sport for england and india both. Infact the whole asia has cricket fever, india pakistan and sri lanka being top on it u will see this game played in asia day and night

they love it because there are manny good legency player prouduce by india like kapil dev tndulker so for thrn cricket is a relegion and sachi is a god for that relegion

they love cricket so much because their is no other game in India which is given more importance then cricket.

why in other Europe countries love football so much ? that way indians love cricket so much. because there is lots of exitment till the last second. you cant say who will win the match.

i like circket because it came from ancient time(lagan),no but our national game is hockey.
