Dogs are man's bestfriend. Diamonds are a girl's bestfriend. Although this cliche seem to apply to many, it doesnt really to all people, well, not in a literal way. This statement comes to me as something that meant figuratively. Dogs represent friends, loyalty, and companionship while the diamonds represent money, wealth, possessions. What exactly is your "bestfriend"? What is that one thing you have that you dont want to live without? Is it the material things or something much more deeper? For me, my "bestfriend" would have to be my compassion. I am a very compassionate person (not that im flattering myself) and have a pretty soft heart for people. I wouldnt want to live without that because being compassionate to others bring a lot more than just friends or happiness. I also feel that i am important, needed, and appreciated. Ultimately, it also brings a positive effect to my self-esteem and sense of well-being.

I find the idea funny, since I would rather have one dog than a thousand diamonds *laugh* Money and wealth means very little to me, other than the fact that I do have to struggle to make money online simply so that I can have some cash to survive. *laugh* But if given the choice between money and love, I would choose love _anytime_, anyplace, anyday. Love is the most beautiful thing in the world. ^_^ To me, my best friend would be love and the ability to make others happy. TO me, seeing someone else happy is one of the most amazing things possible. If i cannot make others happy, it is hard for me myself to be happy. I would not want to live in a world where I couldn't make anyone else smile! *laugh*

I'd say my "bestfriend" would have been the ups-and-downs of life. Why not? Hardships in life molded me to what I am now. They have made me a strong person, enough to make me keep on with life.

yes, that's true. When we experience hardships or failures in our life, we always perceive them as something negative and get discouraged to move on. But somehow, we dont know that they are actually the things that help make us become a stronger and better person.

i have a real person as a best friend. but i do consider my puppy as one of my best buds. i love diamonds but they dont last forever and they have no feelings, they cant respond to how i feel.
