I love to watch the All Star stuff. It's a moment when you realize that these phenominal athletes truly do love the sport they're in. Did you watch and enjoy it this year? Have you ever been lucky enough to go see one?

I watched the young stars, the skill competion and the all star game. I really enjoyed all of it. My brother is a Kings fan and I am a Penguins fan and when I went to his house the day after the young stars game he answered the door in his Kopitar jersey. He thinks that Kopitar is going to beat out Malkin for the rookie of the year.

Malkin's got it in a wrap! LOL The only thing Malkin's missing is the pizazz. He's good, skilled but doesn't quite know how to grab the audience yet.

I think it will come to him though with more time in the US. His excitement when he scores is awesome.

OH yeah, he'll learn. And with Ovechkin as one of his best friends I'm sure he'll learn quick! lol

No, my cable system doesn't carry that network. The NHL really needs to get back with ESPN or some other major network!

I was a bit dumfounded when I saw they were on .. heck can't even think of the call letters now.. lol... but the network they have a ton of games on (former sports channel). I think they hoped they could get enough people buying "nhl packages" and that just isn't right.

I love the all star game, but the skills competitions are definately the best. I feel that the players are not putting on their best efforts in the game, but they are going all out in skills competitions. I also love the old-timers game before the main event. It's such a thrill to see players that I grew up watching. My husband and the kids and I are glued to the TV set every year.

I agree the game itself has little pizzaz and basically is like watching pick up hockey but with some pretty skilled players! lol I think it's more the excitement of seeing all the players in one area more than an actual excitement of a game that's played intensely. Face it, nobody's gonna hit too hard or pull any muscles just showing off for the all star game! I only say the "oldies" game once, and loved it. I don't know that they showed it on our station here now that I think of it. I could be wrong though.

I love the competition parts. Shows their skills and their abilities as an individual. Of course, lets them ham it up a bit too! lol As for the game.. I find them interesting to see if these top quality players can truly play well with other members on the team. It's not an easy task to move from one team to another, especially when most on the team are used to being "top dogs".
