"check-in" at the airport - telephonic !

Whats the advantage of "telephonic check-in facility" at the airport ? What does actually mean ? How does it differ from "physical check-in" ?

I always check in at home online if that option is available. With most airlines you can do this and print your boarding pass up to 24 hours in advance. This saves you from having to wait in lines at the airport to check in before your flight. If you get to the airport and don't have luggage to check, you can go right to security. If you have to check a bag, you can do it easily at one of the self-service machines.
