Have u ever acted to talk on yr cell fone jus to avoid feeling lonely in public?

I have seen many of my friends talking on cell fone(acting as being talking to someone) just to avoid being lonely or whatever they feel....I had noted this for quite some time....one day one of my friend was acting so as to talk on her cell fone and i called her,she suddenly awkwardly told other person that i will talk to u later and hung up....i came to knw that she is just trying to act ......
Then i noticed many ppl like this in local trains,buses, and other public places....God knows what for they do this.......
Have you ppl ever noticed such situations or for mobile users have u ever done this?

I used to get my phone and and call someone if for instance i was walking home alone to take my mind off it and have somebody to talk to but then i was told not to do this as it can make me a target of mobile phone theft.

Yeah, I find that to be really funny. I have noticed alot of people doing that down here when cellphones where first started to be famous. I just thought that was the stupidest thing they can do. It is ok to be lonely and there is no need to act that way.
