Is there anything that you own which you could not live without? Something which, in your eyes, is perhaps priceless or irreplaceable. Perhaps it is something that is one of a kind. But either way, I know that life without some things just wouldn't be the same. Share with us your prized possessions.

My most material possession is my car--I don't drive it anymore but I bought it brand new, sold it and bought it back again. I've been through so much with it and I love it! I feel my car is a representation of me and my personality--we've got curves, it's timeless and is stripped down with necessities, no frills! Plus now it's even more so--it's taken a lickin' and it's still tickin' (just like me!)

Nice! So I want to know...what kind of car is it? I like your comparison to yourself - that's a clever one! Too bad you don't show it off anymore on the streets.

Mine would have to be a book, a make-up bag and crocheted top. The book because it moved me deeply. The make-up bag because it was given to me by a close loved one who passed away and gave me the whole set because I really liked it, and she bought in London, so I couldn't get it here in the US, and the crocheted top by another close loved one who passed away because it was given to her by a famous person who gave it to her as a "thank you" for house sitting for them when she was a teen.

Those are all very touching things to hold onto! I know what you mean about sentimental value for things that others have given you, especially after they have sadly passed over. Those things help to keep you connected to them in some way, like a lifeline stretching from this life to the next. Thank you, Shelly for your thoughtful response..as usual! You seem very interesting and grounded. A pleasure to be your friend. -Charlie

My ADSL router :-) It's it irreplaceable, but it's really not something that I would like to be without :-)

It would be my entire music collection in cd and audio cassette formats; half a million songs of different languages. If I were to be marooned in an island, music will keep me in good spirits.

That's awesome! And I agree completely that music is one thing which would be hard to live without! Keep on collecting!

So far, I cannot think of any single possession I have had which I have grown to be extemely attached. Well, I really cannot think of one. But I know most people do. There are some things I hold dear though, like my favorite dress, my favorite bag, and my favorite pair of shoes. But as always, they get changed to new ones with the passage of time.

It is indeed good not to get too attatched to anything material, but also to be open to new trends. Good response! Thank you for your input.

It is my collection of books, especially the comic books. I can part with anything except those. My collection is what I collected over the past 45 years and I still have them in their original condition. Now my son is reading them and it will go down for generations.
